The Union State Armed Forces, abbreviated in Zalesian as VSSG, is the military of the Asterian Union State. The largest military in the solar system, the Union State Armed Forces employ millions of personnel, both on Plateia and offworld. Founded in 0014 R.C. following the Consensus of Xinjing, the Union State Armed Forces was originally a merger of the Armed Forces of the Zalesian State and the Serican National Armed Forces. The Union State Armed Forces is comprised of the Union State Terrestrial Forces, the Union State Naval Forces and the Union State Space Forces.
The Union State Armed Forces act as an extension of the Prostasist Party's power, as Party membership and strict adherence to Party values is required for upward career mobility within the officer corps.
