The Grensland Defense Force is the combined armed service of the Free State of Grensland. Founded from the former Grensland Security Forces following Grensland's secession from the Coalition, the GDF's role expanded rapidly to meet Grensland's offensive and defensive needs. Using a mixture of ex-Coalition equipment, rejected Mitsubara designs, modified civilian assets and new designs, the GDF managed to steadily expand developments conceived under its predecessor organization during the Colony War.
The Vasatian Wars proved an excellent backdrop for the GDF's expansion, seasoning the novel military force with terrestrial warfare experience, and expanding the GDF's capabilities to encompass additional air and sea potential.
