Eastern Soterianity is one of the oldest denominations of Soterianity and had schismed from the Canonical Church as a result of theological and political disputes. The faith eventually became central to the culture of the Chrysonean and Zalesian ethnic groups and helped to differentiate them from other non-Anatolist relatives. In the modern day, the Chrysonean and Zalesian churches are both heavily influenced by the whims of their respective states, intertwining with the state apparatus to further bolster the legitimacy of their host nations to their respective populations.

The theology of Eastern Soterianity is rooted in both church tradition and the Holy Diatheca, holding the decrees of prior ecumenical councils millennia past to high standard alongside that of the Fathers of the Church. It recognizes itself as the true, holy, and apostolic church established by Soter in the Great Pronouncement; as such, it believes itself to be the practitioner of the original Soterianity by means of church tradition. It had been in prior communion with the Canonical Church until its historical schism, and Presynaitic Soterianity even earlier in history.

As one of the oldest standing religious institutions on Plateia, the Eastern Soterian patriarchates have been involved in multiple epochs of Eurysian, and later planetary, history. The disposition of said patriarchates has skewed to be state-oriented in recent decades with the Union State's utilization of religion as a means to loyalty and control within the paradigm of the ideology of Prostasism, particularly in the Zalesian Federation.
