The Federal District, colloquially referred to by its singular urban center, Itaguaçu, is a federative unit and the seat of government of the Ancorian Federation. It is bordered on all sides by Itacati, with narrow coastline access to the Ancorian Interior Seaway. Itaguaçu serves as the seat of both the District's local government and the overarching government of the Federation, hosting all ministries and government organs within its confines. Known for its distinct modern architecture, it is significant for its status as a central nexus of administration, education and tourism.
Established in 0025 R.C. with the completion of Itaguaçu and the relocation of government from its historical seat in Eudóxia, the artificial planned capital of the Ancorian Federation was built in the modernist style, setting itself apart from the rest of the country and reflecting the optimistic outlook of its time.
