Zuhd is an Enochian monotheistic religion that emerged from the teachings of the prophet An-Nusuki. Having adopted traits of Orubian mysticism, the religion has traditionally existed as a pacifistic faith in the region of Orubia, with historical spread through mercantile lanes having it appear in Turajan and parts of Sumaladesha by Orubian traders. However, Turajani sects of Zuhd have seen a more militant transformation of their religion, with the incorporation of nationalistic sentiments and Union State governmental patronage re-orienting the faith along politically utilitarian lines of mass mobilization.
The faith traditionally espouses the tenets of spiritual purification and and cleanliness to achieve the favor and pleasure of God, gained through asceticism and mystic practices. Adherents are a part of orders (alternatively referred to as “congregations”) that tie their spiritual descendance from An-Nusuki himself. However, strains arising in Turajan have begun to see physical, militant action as a means to this end of purity, creating a major split between the traditional pacifistic body of adherents and the modern, Union-encouraged sects.
