Tenzanese New Religions (新宗敎 Shinshūkyō) refer to the diverse wave of religious movements that emerged mainly from the mid-9th century S.C. onward, especially after the Honei Restoration; blending elements mostly of Shimbutsudo and folk beliefs, and sometimes, Soterianity or Eurysian esotericism. These groups typically center around charismatic founders, promise personal salvation or worldly benefits, and often emphasize healing, spiritual power, or moral reform.
