Sterregemeenskap, or Stellar Community is a novel ideology of Grenslandic origin that seeks to elevate the concept of spacer nationalism to a high, almost revolutionary level. Germinating from the ideals of Frederik Andries Vlok and being inspired by the Five Principles of Mankind first espoused by the Kunlunese Chen Changyang, the idea of the Stellar Community places the space-bound peoples of the Solar System (most especially Grenslanders) as their own prime identity, superseding the chains that bounded them to the whims of the Plateian blocs.
Ideologically, Sterregemeenskap posits that spacers should be the prime decider of their own fate and fortunes, without having logistical or administrative oversight by any higher entity—most especially those from the human homeworld of Plateia. In order to facilitate maximum resource availability and martial strength against those who would oppose them, it is advocated that the various space-bound colonies of man join together in such an endeavor for independence. This was the primary impetus behind Grensland's backing of the formation of the Sovereign Colonies Compact, formed in 0119 R.C. near the end of Vlok's presidential tenure.
The concept of Sterregemeenskap was first formally institutionalized in 0115 R.C. with Vlok's election as President of the Free State of Grensland, and in turn would be continued by his successors Pieter Gerhardus Besuidehout and Reinoud Willem Jansen.
