Relutionist Soterianity, also known as Relutionism or Batherism, is a unique denomination of Soterianity that espouses the values of pacifism and traditionalism, both in social conduct and religious teachings. Germinating from isolated, pastoral Pietist communities within both North and South Esmaria alike, Relutionists form a strong, yet insular conservative demographic within Esmarian Pietism.
In the terms of their beliefs, Relutionists ascribe the majority of their practices to Pietist tradition. They often self-segregate from surrounding populations and insist on the maintenance of their faith even in the midst of other religions in otherwise cosmopolitan regions. This, combined with their Soterian pacifism and tendencies for simple living, has led Relutionists to cultivate a sense of self-sufficiency and orientation towards rural life wherever they settle.
Uniquely, the opening of the planetary frontier in Vasati has led to the immigration of Relutionist communities from Plateia to the relatively remote world, allowing them to forge their own colonies with only minimal involvement from the Coalition authorities. Their usual eschewment of modern technologies, however, has been somewhat curtailed in order to allow for communal survival in such an alien landscape. They nevertheless wish to maintain a degree of separation from non-Relutionist society while simultaneously evangelizing wherever possible to seek converts.
