The National Committee for the Liberation of Ancoria (CNLA) was a military-civil committee comprised of pro-Compact collaborators following the invasion of Compact forces during Operation Angelier. While its founding manifesto, the Porto Tavile Declaration, affirmed democratic values and cited the Ancorian government's continued role in the Solar War and the 'hypocrisy' of aligning itself with the likes of Costa Ferrea and Itzmilco, the government in Barbosa ultimately served as a rubber stamp entity for the GDF's Army Group South Esmaria Command. Its chairman was Adalberto Ernesto Beckmann, a former army officer and councilor of the National Heritage Party. It is largely suspected the committee was organized at the behest of Compact forces, so as to slightly ease the burdens of military occupation. Despite initial promises of democratic rule, 'wartime emergency provisions' led to the suspension of habeas corpus and rule by decree for much of the duration of the regime, through its Institutional Acts.
Founded in February of 0123 R.C., the Committee lasted two years before its ultimate collapse in 0125 R.C., precipitated by a string of defeats by Compact forces and the Committee's local military force, the Provisional Forces, suffered at the hands of the Ancorian Armed Forces and other Commonwealth militaries.
