The L4 Federation is an L-point federation of the Asterian Union State, located in Plateia's L4 Laplace Point. It comprises all of the Union State's colonies in L4, of which there are currently seventeen. L4 has been a historical priority for the Union State's colonization programmes, and it possesses a population of just over 80 million. Like other L-point federations, the population of the L4 Federation is widely varied, although a majority are either ethnic Sericans or Zalesians. It was among the most significant theaters of fighting during the Colony War, during which the L4 Federation lost control of several colonies.

Densely populated with a population around ~9.5 million people, and home to a notable military presence, it is one of the more significant colonies of the L4 Federation. The people are overall supportive of the Union State and — perhaps more importantly — the ruling Prostasist party. Following a political crisis in 0121 R.C. brought about by the treason of its chairwoman, Im Na-Ra, its government was uprooted by the Oprichnik Corps. The revelation of her collusion with the Tyanlun Rebellion led to mass arrests of those responsible for conspiring against the Party. After a brief interim under the leadership of Oprichnik Polkovnik Dimitar Kostov, new elections were held thereafter, upon which regular civilian order was restored in the colony. Sujeongseong emerged from this political crisis firmly loyal to the Union State, a strict loyalty the Oprichnik Corps has used to its advantage to gain new recruits. |
