The Elvetian Federation, commonly referred to as Elvice, is a federal directoral republic located in central Eurysia, composed of three Federal Districts and the autonomous city of Maraton. It is a landlocked country, bordered by Volscia to the west and south, Vesta and Lebusia to the north, and Chrysony to the east. Owing to the country's origins as a federation of regions populated by different ethnic groups, whom mostly share kinship with the populations of Elvice's neighbors, the government system has long been geared towards ensuring stability and providing adequate representation to all of Elvice's peoples. The country is not completely at peace however, as the destabilization of the Colony War's aftermath has fueled a resurgence of previously dormant ideological and ethnic-based conflict, influenced by developments in Elvice's neighboring countries.
