The Apason Development Administration is the Development Administration which oversees the Coalition's territories on the surface of Apason, one of Phainon's moons. The most recently formed out of all the Coalition's Development Administrations, “Coalition Apason” was formed in 0094 R.C. shortly after completion of the space habitat Pioneer, heralding the beginning of Coalition development of Apason's rich hydrocarbon resources. At present though, Coalition Apason still has relatively few inhabitants, as the oil industry of the Emerald Alliance remains profitable and appealing. Many still believe mankind's expansion out from Plateia will inevitably bring a more comfortable lifestyle to Apason.
History
Awareness of the lucrative potentials for development on Apason had been present in the Coalition since before the beginning of the Rational Calendar, but Novadieta's full-scale implementation of the Schulz Plan beginning in the 0070s R.C. convinced Coalition leaders of the strategic necessity of establishing a presence on the planet. Claiming roughly a third of the planet's surface, the establishment of the Anaheim Cylinder Voyager in Phainon-Apason L4 in 0085 R.C. allowed the Coalition to lay stake to its claim by establishing the subterranean city of Airiulfauswens in 0090 R.C. Most of the colonists brought to Apason were from eastern Eurysia, predominantly Bairgland and Chrysony, along with some Lebusians and Esmarians. After the Apason Development Administration was officially formed in 0094 R.C., terrestrial infrastructure development and immigration increased as megacorporations and members of the Coalition Congress eager to see Novadieta's economic success undercut lobbied to fund a more substantial presence on the moon. Although Coalition Apason ultimately did not seriously threaten Novadieta's competitive edge, it did construct and maintain a serious military presence that would come to prove itself useful in the future Solar War.
