Ancorian Army
The Ancorian Army is the land warfare branch of the Ancorian Armed Forces. Its primary responsibilities are defensive and expeditionary operations in times of war, and, in peacetime, providing internal security, emergency relief and law enforcement. The primary preventive police body of Ancoria, the Military Police (not to be confused with the Army Police,) are also subordinate to the Ancorian Army, serving as part of the auxiliary military reserve, alongside the Military Firefighters Corps.
History
The Ancorian Army can trace its traditions to the Imperial Ancorian Army, itself the successor to colonial Viratian rule in Ancoria. Interventions in South Esmaria, particularly against Costa Ferrea, Itzmilco and the Condean Empire, shaped much of its doctrinal experience in the latter centuries of the Standard Calendar. In the Rational Era, the Ancorian Army has had little direct experience directly engaging a peer adversary since its intervention in the Quisquellan War, having primarily seen secondary experience through proxy theatres and offworld frontier operations.

| Of their Commonwealth peers, Ancorian troops are often the most well-equipped, owing to Ancoria's wealth and ample military industry. The main competition in this regard would be Novadieta. As Ancorian indigenous people don't use the Eurysian standard of surname, their 'surname' will typically default to that of their state-recognized indigenous territory. Yarima is such an example in this sheet. | |
| Augmentations are rather lax in Ancoria. So long as they're street-legal, the military will typically accept an augmented person in. Ancorian paratroopers' uniforms are decorated with the tricolor of the Order of Soter, a military honor that dates back to the the Ancorian Empire. Lunares are typically hypogravitals, their bodies particularly suited to the demands of low-gravity environments. | |
