Bounding the western coast of [[Olympic Island]], as well as three exclaves beyond its contiguous territory, Olympic City is home to a population of over 11 million residents, dispersed moderately through the span of the free city's territory. The Olympic City has no military forces of its own, and is instead protected by a specialized [[Capital Garrison]], of which various member states contribute towards. However, it holds jurisdiction over its internal politics, which are managed by the [[Olympic City Commission]] and the [[Olympic Senate]]. Furthermore, Olympic City also hosts the headquarters of the [[Coalition of Congressional Nations]], situated at 111 Congressional Plaza. History Though its defenses would hold throughout the course of the [[Great Exchange]], Olympic City would play host to the final bloody years of the [[Esmarian Federation]]'s existence, from the assassination of President [[George Warner]] to the capitulation of Esmaria's federal government at the end of the [[Federal Crisis]]. With the reorganization of the Esmarian Federation into the Emerald Alliance, the Olympic City would persist as the capital of a unified Esmaria, even if under a different context. Wary of centralizing so much institutional power in one place, however, many former departments, bureaus and executive bodies were either dissolved, privatized or distributed between the new republics. With its newfound status as a 'neutral' metropolitan region, it became a natural candidate for the de-facto capital of the nascent [[Coalition of Congressional Nations]].
