A federal republic, it consists of a capital district and 15 districts (kreise), as well as four offworld 'federal protectorates'. The host of the [[Pan-Esmarian Space Elevator]], Novadieta is a key member of the Commonwealth due to its strategic equatorial position. Guided by policy to maintain its edge in hydrocarbon resources (i.e. petroleum), Novadieta has largely been at the forefront of Commonwealth efforts in the outer [[Solar System]], particularly due to the hydrocarbon seas of [[Apason]], [[Phainon]]'s second major moon. Immense profits would quickly lead to exponential economic growth at home, with the completion of the Pan-Esmarian Space Elevator in 0086 R.C. marking the beginning of the [[Novadietan Space Boom]], a paradigm shift that saw Novadieta quickly rise to become one of the largest and most robust economies in the Commonwealth. [[KvNDSA]] would be established in 0089 R.C., bringing all state and private hydrocarbons corporations under a single monolithic banner, soon expanding into other fields including the construction of space colonies and orbital shipbuilding. Presently, Novadieta rides the wave of an unparalleled commodities boom brought on by the vast growth of both its planetary and spatial industries, particularly in the Geiersburg Protectorate and Apason. Novadieta is the world's prime hydrocarbons exporter, out-competing its rivals in prices and enjoying vast subsidies from the Novadietan government. Politically, the country's status quo stands between the incumbent [[Social Soterian Party]] and the [[Progressive Action Party]], with the privatization or nationalization of the country's monolithic industries a frequent matter of debate. History - Solar War The [[Asterian Union State|Union State]]'s entry into the Solar War in support of the [[Sovereign Colonies Compact]] led to both the [[Union State Armed Forces]] and the [[Coalition Forces Authority]] to enact orders pertaining to the total seizure of the moon Apason, due to its strategically crucial supply of hydrocarbon resources. General perceptions of Novadieta as a minor nation unprepared for peer warfare motivated both sides' spontaneous invasions of the [[Apason Protectorate]] to achieve such ends. Novadieta's refusal to surrender after the initial hours of fighting ultimately gave rise to the Apason Conflict — and served as the catalyst for the Commonwealth's entry into the Solar War.
