The **Union State Armed Forces,** abbreviated in Zalesian as **VSSG,** is the military of the [[wiki:unionstate|Asterian Union State.]] The largest military in the solar system, the Union State Armed Forces employ millions of personnel, both on [[wiki:plateia|Plateia]] and offworld. Founded in 0014 R.C. following the [[wiki:consensus_of_xinjing|Consensus of Xinjing,]] the Union State Armed Forces was originally a merger of the [[Armed Forces of the Zalesian State]] and the [[wiki:serican_national_armed_forces|Serican National Armed Forces.]] The Union State Armed Forces is comprised of the [[wiki:union state terrestrial forces|Union State Terrestrial Forces,]] the [[wiki:union state naval forces|Union State Naval Forces]] and the [[wiki:union state space forces|Union State Space Forces.]]

The Union State Armed Forces act as an extension of the [[wiki:prostasist_party_of_the_asterian_union_state|Prostasist Party's]] power, as Party membership and strict adherence to Party values is required for upward career mobility within the officer corps.
