 In regards to its existence within the present zeitgeist of space colonization in the Solar System, many attribute its continued persistence to its essential tenets of reorienting power from established upper classes to the working proletariat. Many space colonies function by the way of national or megacorporate sponsorship, with varying levels of regard for the colonial communities that they consist of. With most colonies having the objective of some sort of resource extraction or refinement prior to export to [[Plateia]], these colonial communities often undergo hardships from logistical difficulties or quotas that they need to reach, putting pressure on the cultivated lower class and allowing for the promulgation of labourism. This is further bolstered in the public consciousness through the weakening of union powers on the colonies, where public or private companies utilize their significant level of logistical power over the population to get their demands met.
